Exciting News from the CENetwork of the ELCA!

Dear friends!

When I was a trip leader at Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center in Oregon, Illinois, each meal would end with this sing…. Announcements, Announcements, Announcements!

Today I am excited to share an exciting announcement with you! 2019 will be the year of The Christian Education Network of the ELCA Presents… Learning Strategies for “Living Our Baptism”.

Living Our Faith…Five Gifts of Discipleship (elca.org/Resources/Faith-Practices) focuses on the promises affirmed in our Affirmation of Baptism liturgy:

  •                 to live among God’s faithful people,
  •                 to hear the word of God and share in the Lord’s supper,
  •                 to proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed,
  •                 to serve all people, following the example of Jesus,
  •                 and to strive for justice and peace in all the earth?  (Evangelical Lutheran Worship, p. 236)

The CEN is busy writing and collecting resources to help congregations engage all ages in the gifts of baptism. Be sure to follow the Facebook page and group, Pinterest and faithfulteaching.org to keep up to date with the newest releases beginning in January. And, if you have resources you would like to share, be sure to contact us by clicking here!

Time for another announcement! Coming in 2019, for all members, will be a web-based version of the Christian Education Network Presents: Creating a Safe Church Policy. More information on this workshop will be available at faithfulteaching.org.

And one final announcement. If you are still looking for last minute Christmas gift ideas, why not give the gift of a CEN membership, or make a donation in someone’s memory or honor? It is a great way to say thank you to a special person while supporting the ministry that supports and encourages them.

Have a blessed Advent journey and a joyous Christmas!
