2009 Educator of the Year: Karen Seykowski

 

 

 

Karen is currently serving as a volunteer at Christ Lutheran Church in Valparaiso, Indiana, where she has been instrumental in bringing a fresh approach to Christian education for students of all ages. She also served on the Christian Education team for the Indiana-Kentucky Synod where she and her team developed the Faith Formation Handbook for parish educators who work in the trenches.

 

 One of the strong traits Karen offers not only to her own congregation, but to the larger community as well is her ability to recruit, train, encourage, and empower others. She is able to recognize in others their gifts and strengths and to support them in their ministries.
