2007 Educator of the Year: Cindy Greenwood

The Lutheran Association of Christian Educators is honored to announce the 2007 Educator of the Year.  The recipient is Cindy Greenwood, Coordinator of Education and Family Ministries at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Charleston, South Carolina.

Cindy was chosen for her active leadership in the field of Christian education in both her current position as well as in her former position at Abiding Christ Lutheran Church, Fairborn, Ohio.

As the Chairperson of the South Carolina Learning Ministries Committee, she continues to be a formative influence and advocate for church educators. Currently she also serves as a facilitator and mentor for Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training.  Her ongoing compassion for the program has encouraged congregations to develop and implement safe child policies.

The award was presented to Cindy by President Teresa Kaldor in San Diego in February of 2008.
