2010 Educator of the Year: Kathy Paisley

LACE is honored to announce the 2010 Educator of the Year.
The recipient is Kathy Paisley, Associate in Ministry, Sheridan Lutheran Church, Lincoln, Nebraska.
Kathy was chosen for her active leadership in her congregation as over the past 35 years she has served first as a volunteer teacher and Sunday School coordinator, then as a professional staff person in the area of education. Kathy also owns and operated her own childcare center, again demonstrating her love and compassion for children.
In addition, Kathy is involved in adult Christian Education, developing programs for her congregation as well as the Nebraska Synod. She currently serves as the Co-chair of the Nebraska Synod Assembly and is a Certified Spiritual Director. She is also Coordinator of her synod’s Safeguarding God’s Children initiative.
According to Assistant to the Nebraska Synod Bishop, the Reverend Lee Griess states: “Kathy is one of those rare people who are gifted with leadership and compassion, who knows how to use both of those gifts in such a way that everyone around her is enriched.”
