We Encourage You to Join LACE:

  • If you are a professional employed or actively seeking employment in the educational ministry of the church;
  • If you are a volunteer who is involved or interested in Christian Education;
  • If you are a congregation that is eager to support its educational ministry leaders;
  • If you are a Christian educator who is member of another denomination that desires networking and support;
  • If you are a retired Christian educator, but would like to share your experiences with others
  • If you are a student who is interested in faith formation.

Membership Categories and Annual Dues;

  • Individual Memberships:
    • Supporting (formerly Legacy): $150
    • Individual: $50
    • Retired/Student: $25
  • Group Memberships:
    • Small Group (4 memberships): $180
    • Add members to your Group for $40 each - customize the number of members to fit your needs

Joining Lace

Be part of LACE – It’s more than membership! 

LACE is an experience of being equipped, encouraged, empowered and engaged in the vocation and minsitry of lifeling faith formation.

We are a dedicated mix of full-time, part-time, volunteer time; paid/non-paid, who are either ordained/lay rostered in ELCA or ELCA communion-partner denominations or lay professional/diversely-gifted volunteers who are involved in Christian faith formation ministries through congregations and a variety of organizations engaged in teaching and learning ministries.

  • “TIPS IN Education,”  the quarterly publication that keeps you informed and inspired through articles written by faith educators with practical ideas on what’s working for others and news on latest resources and events.
  • A Monthly E-newsletter
  • Access to the LACE Membership Directory located on the LACE website as well as other “members only” areas of the website
  • Opportunities for events, workshops, and retreats through LACE or LACE partners, some offering discounts to LACE members
  • Opportunities to create local chapters to stimulate leadership and encourage networking

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

Individual 1-year Membership - $50

For individuals actively involved in faith formational ministries connected to a congregation, synod, or other church institution, whether employed, self-employed, or volunteer.*

Small Congregation 1-year Membership - $60

For congregations worshipping less than 100 persons each week.  This category gives two memberships—one for the pastor and one for a lay volunteer or professional in the congregation as designated by the pastor

Student 1-year Membership - $25

For students enrolled in a college, university, or seminary who have an Interest and focus in faith formation.  This membership is designed to give you a break while helping you connect as you prepare for your vocation in ministry.

Retired 1-year Membership - $25

For those who have retired from active Christian education ministry but still actively interested in supporting other faith educators and maintaining benefits of belonging to LACE.

Supporting 1-year Membership - $150

If you are able to provide a higher level of financial support to LACE and its mission, we invite you to consider this membership level (formerly called Legacy Membership).  10% is designated to the LACE Endowment Fund and is tax deductible.  We’ll send you the new devotional booklet published by LACE, “Reflections Through the Year”  in appreciation of your level of giving.

Group 1-year Membership -  Starting at $180 for up to 4 members, add $40 each additional person

For groups from one church, college, publishing company, or church institution.  Group memberships are a VITAL force in LACE.  If you organization has a desire to network several of your educational leaders with other leaders and practitioners and wish to encourage the mission of LACE and faith formation in the Church, this membership category is for you.

SYNODODICAL PARTNERS MEMBERSHIP - $350

Support faith formation ministries in the ELCA and your synod and region through a LACE membership. 

*Is your LACE membership interrupted by leave or job transition?  You can extend your one-year membership up to 3 additional months at no charge just by contacting our LACE Coordinator (click here).
